Summer Twenty Sixteen

The first day of summer has officially passed, but it is never too late to start thinking about things to do to make summer sixteen one of the best ones yet. If you are a twenty-something, you know summers are starting to look like all work and no play. Personally, I’m a full-time student with two jobs, so summer is really the only break I get when I’m not at work or taking online classes.

Pool Days
When you’re used to living in 100+ degree weather, it’s hard not to want to jump into a pool every time you see one. And who doesn’t love splashing around with their favorite floaties and poolside drinks? Invite a few friends over and enjoy staying cool.

Outdoor Movie Nights
Summer nights are the best time to just relax and watch movies. If you have a drive-in theater near you, you can roll down the window and enjoy whatever movies are playing. A more innovative way to enjoy outdoor movie nights is to create them yourself. Hang up a white sheet, attach your computer to a projector and you’re set!

Read a Good Book
As I grow older, the free time I normally keep for myself is being taken by responsibilities like work and school. Being the avid reader that I was, I miss that side of me. What better time than summer to tackle a summer reading list? Goodreads is a fantastic place to find new books and read reviews on them.

Try Something New
Since I have time left in the day after I get off work, I can┬ábasically whatever I want. Something I’ve always wanted to do but never had the time to is Pinot’s Pallette. It’s where you drink wine and paint! You could always pick up a new hobby or go to that restaurant everyone’s been raving about.
